Gourmet Chocolate Cake Recipe
Ingredients
125gm chocolate
100gm butter
125gm caster sugar
3 eggs, beaten
60gm cornflour
1 tsp baking powder
Chocolate chips, optional
Recipe
Preheat the oven to 180°C (Gas 4). Keep the butter and chocolate together over a low heat, and melt gently. Separate eggs, beat, then add to chocolate mixture. Combine sugar, baking powder and cornflour together, mix it well and also add chocolate chips if liking. Pour this mixture into a greased 20 cm (8in) cake tin. Cook for 30 minutes in a medium oven. Test the middle of the cake with a knife to make sure it is cooked - if knife comes out clean, then the cake is done. Leave it to cool for 10 minutes, remove from tin and cool on wire rack. Dust with icing sugar to finish.
