| Rolling pins are cylindrical rollers used to shape and flatten dough. These thick rollers with handles at each end help to roll out dough on pastry boards. They may also be thin tapered baton-like in shape. Usually made of wood they are also made of metal, plastic or marble, as also of glass, silicone, bamboo and stainless steel. You should choose heavy rolling pins. Metal, marble and large wooden pins are among the heaviest. They will also do a better job in making thinner sheets of dough. With thick rolling pins your hands won't touch the pastry dough. |
